National Convention

The National Federation of the Blind National Convention is the largest gathering of blind people in the world, and is the premier event for training, support, and information for the blind community. It also serves as a governing body, democratically electing our leadership and establishing each year's organizational priorities.

2026 National Convention

Austin, Texas
July 3 - 8, 2026

This summer, thousands of blind people from around the world will journey to Austin, Texas to attend the 2026 Annual Convention. The convention will be held from Friday, July 3rd to Wednesday, July 8th. Beginning March 1st through May 31st, you can visit www.nfb.org to pre-register, or you may register on-site starting July 3rd. Please note: Pre-registration rates are discounted.

In addition to well-known featured speakers and an expansive exhibit hall filled with technology, literature, and services, there will be numerous special interest meetings, including seminars for parents and teachers of blind children; meetings for blind high school and college students; professional development opportunities for individuals working in the field of blindness; workshops for those interested in computers and technology; activities and learning opportunities for blind youth; meetings for various professionals; and much more! Social activities will be scheduled throughout the week as well.

This year’s convention will be held at the JW Marriott at 110 East 2nd Street. Room rates are $139 (singles and doubles) and $155 (triples and quads) per night, plus sales tax and a tourism fee (which currently stands at 19%). You must specify our room block code, BL1, to ensure you receive our convention room rate. For each room you book, the hotel requires a deposit of the first night’s room rate, taxes, and fees, payable by credit card or a personal check. If you use a credit card, the deposit will be charged immediately. If a reservation is cancelled before Sunday, June 1, 2026, half of the deposit will be returned. Refunds will not be issued after that date. Get your reservations early; space is limited. The overflow hotel is the Marriott downtown at 304 Cesar Chavez Street East. Beginning on January 1, you may call 800-627-7468 to book a room at either hotel.
